practicing with broadheads
« on: June 19, 2009, 10:04:29 AM »
Yesterday i tried shooting some BHs.
I had all 100 grain
Rocky Mt. Razor 3 blade
Deer Country (almost idinical to rocky mt)
Slick trick Mag. 4 blade
practice rage 2 blade
was pretty breezey about 15-20 mph i guess
all shot very well i thought for the side wind, but left of my field tips.
i think i could live with any of them on a still day.
I was shooting at THE BLOCK 14" thick all the heads would get about
half way through (bow set at 60lb 28" dr.) except for the Slick Trick
witch would like about 1/2-1" coming out the back. This was from
20 and 30 yards

;D and that is why I love the Slick Tricks, on both the Kudu
and the Oryx complete passthrough! On the kudu it broke a rib going
and going out and on the oryx going in.

I would like to try the Shuttle-t-lock but it looks a lot like the slick trick
and for the money i think in will be very hard to beat the slick trick

We got a pictured report of what a Shuttle T did to a bear, a very large bear and it was awesome.  If I had not already spent the money on my Grim Reaper Razor Tips, I would be buying the Shuttle T without thinking about it any more.

Sinse my last post i have tried some t-locks, they shoot exactly like field tips, and penatrate like the slick-trick.
now i have a real problem i have t-locks, slick tricks and rage 2 blade all shooting very well WHAT DO I DO NOW QUEMOSOBY?
I really like the heavy blades on the t-lock and thing penatration would be better than rage if hitting bone.

Bears have lot thicker hair than elk and would think it would take more to penatrate.

rex6666 - I used to be nothing but G5 Outdoors, and first it was the Striker, then the Montec and then the Teken II.  Well I went to over to AT and put them up for sale, sold them and never looked back.  Then when hunting season rolls around, I don't have to wonder which one to use  ;D

I may not sell them all ;) but i am working every day with the t-lock and i am sure liking what i see. I just don't want to have a chance to punch a hole in a nice elk and have the BH fail, i might fail but want every thing else to be right.
