About the 20 gauge USH and Tracker II
« on: June 22, 2009, 09:01:14 AM »
Is the barrel contour of the USH the same as that of the bull barrel centerfire rifles?  What is the actual weight?  Are the lighter Tracker II guns accurate enough with Winchester's newest hottest sabot round?  Is the "New Ultra Light " slug hunter's barrel similar to the Tracker II barrel with the exception it is drilled and tapped for a scope?

Dunno about actual weight but picking up a 20 gauge USH was a what in the world moment for me. I have a scoped 500 yard .308 with a 26" barrel that weighs less.

I personally have not shot or handled the ulsh but I own and have shot a little bit with the tracker II and the ultra in 20ga and I see very little if any difference in accuracy. The major difference is felt recoil and in 20 ga it's not that bad. 12 ga trackerII are a little tough to shoot a lot.

I'd much rather be remembered for being a great shot than having the most expensive gun

The ULSH also has the Ultragon rifling. I believe most all the late 2008 and should be all the 2009 made USH have the ultragon bbl .But there is gonna be the transition bbl's out there that have the old rifling. But yes the ULSH is a Pardner Tracker II bbl with scope rail and Ultragon rifling.Kurt

Sounds like I want an ULSH in 20 gauge.  Is this barrel available in the barrel accessory program?

i have a ush, and had a tracker II.
the ush barrel is much larger & heavier than the II,
the pardner barrel is no comparision to either...

as for accuracy,  they both do well. with the right ammo.

my latest smooth-bore project will out shoot both at 50-75 yrds
much cheaper to shoot and light as a feather.

recoil is much reduced using the brenneke k.o.'s vs other smoothy slugs
and better consistant in accuracy.

thats my experiance, others may vary!!!!!!!! ;D

I have the 20ga.USH. Its a heavy brute, has ultragon rifling. I can see this as an accurate sabot slug shooter, but I have not tried that ammo yet. I had a .410 that I made into a slug shooter, which really sparked my interest in this kind of gun. Now I have the USH, shoot a clover leaf group at 37 paces with Remington sluggers! scout4<><
