rear site for .45-70?
« on: June 22, 2009, 05:43:06 PM »
I didnt want to muddy up zoners post on the front sites.

SO..I need to know if any of you have used the williams fire site rear, and what size do I need for that. I like having the red and green contrast, much nicer than the regular sites.

Im going for the 3/16" shorty ramp with the .450" bead. and Id like to have open sites and not the peep. Alot of my shots are at running game due to the way we hunt up here, drives mostly, and a peep Imho is not going to work.

Thanks, I have no clue what the old one measures since I didnt get the stock set with the gun, and atm Im having a time getting the scope base off due to stripped screw heads  >:(

Thanks guys

Dave

Can't help ya with barrel sights Dave, I can't use em with my old eyes, but there's help in the FAQs on removing the stripped out socket head screws, my favorite method is to heat the screw with a micro torch or soldering iron to soften the thread locker, then drive a T10 torx tool into it and remove the offending screw, then replace them with T10 torx head screws from Brownell's, also in the FAQs.  ;)
