pre warning No 1

I have a chance to buy a pre warning Ruger no 1 in 7X57.  it was made in 1970 (130 prefix).  it has a couple of light marks on the stock, metal loos great, I would say its in 98%  condition.  I can buy this for $700.  is this a fair deal?  Are the pre warning rifles worth more?

That sounds like an average price, for a pre-warning, Ruger NO 1 in that condition, in my area. The 7X57 caliber is very desirable, at least to me, in a NO 1, I would think...

I have a mint NO 1 in 300 Winchester Magnum, that I may be selling soon.

The pre warning is desireable  if the gun is in collector condition, it adds no value for a hunter.

This gun was made in very limited numbers, and is quite sought-after in the Ruger No. 1 community. The $700 is not out of line if the rifle is in good shape. No 7x57 Number Ones were cataloged until 1977, when the 1A was added as a regular item.
