I am not as familiar with the ACT scores as the SAT scores, but I know enough about them to know a 31 is a high score - Congratulations ;).

tykempster - have you got any school plans for this fall? There shouldn't be a problem getting in most anywhere you want - maybe even a scholarship?

I think a 31 is in the top 1.5% or 2%.

I am only going to be a senior this year, so I have another year to "decide", but my dad is a professor at Mizzou, so I will most likely go there.  It's an excellent school, and I want to go into engineering, which they have a good engineering department.  I could go to the UM-Rolla, which is about the best engineering school ever, but there's no girls.  So I'll stick to UM-Columbia.  Can't wait!

Military=Not for me!  Toooo "scary" I guess is the only way to put it.

Good point, I live with fear everytime I go outside the wire. But I have learned to cope with it and not let it get the best of me.  I fear more for my soldiers than I do myself. I know my family and I am prepared, I don't know about them and theirs. The military is for some, not all.  Good luck in the future.

Ty,

A 31 is a great score. You could always take the test again and try for a better score, but what would be the point?

I am sure you worked hard to get to the point you are now, but please remember that your parents, friends, and teachers helped you become the achiever that you are, and for that they deserve your appreciation.

From you previous posts, it is obvious that you possess leadership qualities and are an independent thinker. Our country needs people with those qualities, now more than ever before. Godspeed, young man.

BTW, I have a daughter who will also be a senior this year. She scored a 30. Might I...never mind.

31!! Good Lord! The Valedictorian of my high school made that score. I only got a 27 and I graduate next May in Mechanical Engineering. That kind of score would get you a full ride scholarship and a free laptop down here. A 27 gets you jack crap and a hard time. Just don't approach Engineering recklessly. Get ready to work harder than you ever have in your life. If you make it through the 4 - 5 years of mental punishment, it will pay off in the end. Starting salaries in this area seem to be in the $50-60K range and if you are willing to move around you can almost double that in 10 or so years. Good Luck and Congratulations!

P.S. look up the .338 Xtreme Tactical. Supersonic past 2400 yards with a 266 grain solid copper bullet with a B.C. of .825 and a M.V. of 3350 fps. My cousin just got one and I am drooling over it!

My older daughter earned that same score and is now a second year medical student. She gets her intelligence from her mother and her good looks from me.  ;D

My present salary as a teacher is in that range you mentioned....after 20 years in the profession.  ::)

WTG TYKE!

My oldest is also headed to his last year is high school.
He is attending GOVERNORS SCHOOL half the day.
There were 446 who applied and they only accepted 16 so we were very proud.
When finished next year he will have I think about 30 credits that will transfer.
That's like about a full years worth.
Like you he took his ACT and got a 33.
He plans to attend VIRGINIA TECH after he is done with school.
He wants to be an architect.

Keep up the good work and you will go far.

Congrats!   That is unbelievable. I have a degree in Mech. engineering and you won't believe the work that is available for you once your out of school. Although not to scare you, I promise you will beat your head against the wall more than once ;D.
The study course is intense to say the least! You will find that you are really never done taking tests and studying. I just passed the Edison Electrial Institute exam. Which qualified me for Hydro and Fossil fuel power plants, now i'm facing the nuclear testing next month. :o

Again congrats, and stay away from the women, while they are a important part of life. they can make a mess of your study habits stay the course, you wont believe what can be waiting for you, although with that score you may have mental capabilities far beyond mere mortal men ;D

Oh btw the ASVAB test isn't that bad and the life long experiences you would obtain are well worth the pain. As they say pain is temporary but the pride lasts forever. Now if someone could have pried the lid of this jar and pour the school stuff in life would have been alot easier :o
Dinny you should know what that means :D

ONE THING TO CONSIDER

once you get some schoolin' under your belt, you might want to consider doing a internship with a local company, most are willing to work around your schedule and it looks really good on the ole resume.

Starting wages in the wisconsin/minnesota mississippi river area is around 44k a year, bigger cities pay more but then you got more people and thats the part I can't stand

H&R/NEF 10, 12,16 20 28 ,410 .243 45 357 45lc. 1919a4, uzi, sten mK 2,3,5 M2HB, 1917a1, ak74(2) amd 65, RPK (2) 11 aks and 50 other guns....
