Synthetic Stocks?

Are the new 2009 synthetic stock forends different from previous year stocks?  Just asking, sicne now they've moved to Illion, NY.

The new checkered syn stocks were new last year, come on the 357mag and 44mags only except for the camo version which some distributors now have. If you look at the pics on the H&R website, you'll see the old style stock is still on other models. Dunno if they're gonna switch to the new style for all firearms, that remains to be seen.

I really prefer the stocks made by Choate. The standard "low comb" version is my favorite, and is on all three of my H&R's.

The new style on the .44mag was comfortable, but ugly IMHO. So I traded it off.

The forend on my .44 feels great also, but I like the Survivor style for quick take down.

 I'd say the stocks with the checkering look a little more functional. I have two with the slick plastic and with age one of them as become really slick.

 Well Tim gave you got the skinny on the factory stocks, along with a couple of valued opinions on options.
All I will ad is that they will fit most all older barrels just as well as origionals do.
