Looking for info, or where to find it, on a Winchester Model 55 (don't let that model number throw you... keep reading).
Yep, I know they made a Model 55 lever action rifle from 1924-1932, but that's not the one I am looking for.
"This" Winchester Model 55 is a 22 rimfire (22 S. L. OR LR)... AND is a semi-auto single-shot, with no serial number. Has a spring-loaded lever gun type loading ramp in the top of the barrel, and ejects the fired round out the bottom through a port in the stock, recocking the action and setting the tang safety - ready for you to hand load another round through the gate, release the safety and fire. BTW, the rifle appears unfired, has a very nice walnut stock and all metal furniture (trigger guard, checked butt plate, etc.). There is no plastic on this gem other than the loading gate in the top of the barrel (and it appears to be bakelite). Rear sight is ramp elevation adjustable... rear and front both "drift" adjustable for windage. Its a full size adult rifle made between 1958-1961. I'll add pictures when I get some taken.
Can anyone here give me some more info on this one? Current book value for 100%?
Thanks,
