In case anyone doesn't know where it is, its sorta midway between Wolf Hill and Medeusa.  Take your silver bullets!

Hmmm.  I've never shot Garlic.  Do you have a recommended service loading?

Actually, a good "Mechanic" rubs the nose with garlic in keeping with the tradition that even a wound will be fatal by inducing septicemia. Hollow nose is best 8)

A little mud wouldn't have stopped General Washington's favorite artilleryman, Henry Knox, even though Knox weighed around 300 lbs.  :D
RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.

The one thing that you can almost always rely on research leading to, is more research.

Ahhhh???  At 300 lbs, it's no wonder they named a fort after him.

The last time I was to the AAA shoot at Westerlo, it was about 25 years ago.

Darn!  Twenty-five years of careful planning up in a puff of smoke.  Oh well!

So instead; on Saturday afternoon we'll attend a Colonial Artillery grenade mortar (and maybe cannon) demo' in Hurley, N.Y. during the "Stone House Tour".

It will be at the original colonial stone building which became the temporary NYS capital, after the "British urban renewal project" that burned the capital (Kingston) to the ground.

It was practice for the burning of Washington during the War of 1812.  An example of another "Capital Offense"?  ::)

As the man inferred;  we owe alot to the British.  As a result, I now live in "New Kingston" and we drag our cannons all over the world. "Have gun; will travel" They taught us well.

Sounds good Rich; you're lucky to be in your neck of the woods when it comes to Colonial Reenactment events, around here (midwest) the focus is mostly on the Civil War.
