What will be the next new surplup on the market??

Ok guru's what will be the next military surplus gun new to our gun market be?

I been thinking it will be another surplus sks?  Maybe even more yugo's?  Maybe we will see a hungarian sks or a polish sks who knows.  Any thoughts?

Since were all out of mausers and mosins and all the other semi-auto's at the wholesalers and dealers. Is this stuff all dried up or will there be more comming in.

I think the days of cheap surplus arms are coming to an end I'm afraid.  After the mosin nagant 91/30s are gone, that is it.  We have already seen the M44 disapear all of a sudden from the surplus dealers.  Aim's offerings are sad compared to what they had two years ago.  With the UN buying up small arms, I'm afraid there won't be many that will hit our shore.  Then there are those countries that we will not take small arms from.  Ex: China, North Korea, North Vietnam...The list grows longer...  AK-47s should be C&R, but ATF won't have it.  I'm afraid that most of the surplus left is select fire and can't be easily converted to semi-auto.  When my C&R license expires, I'm not going to renew...I have everything they offer already.  I'm just not interested in sinking more into a surplus rifle than a brand new one cost.  My .002

Don't let your ffl03 C&R expire mainly because of the discounts on ammo and accessories plus gun parts we get plus the savings on reloading stuff too.  The $30 dollar fee still has its perks.  I will never let mine expire.  Its also good for multiple C&R purchases at gun shops and pawn shops too.  If we didn't use the C&R ffl03 we would have uncle sammy knocking at our door on multiple buys made all at once to question us.

I am not fond of some of the butchered reworks that have been offered that were made from the selectfires.  The fit of the wood has been terrible on some of them.

I know the next new sks to hit our shores will be big bucks since were getting closer to the last hurrah on surplups.   The mosins and mausers are long gone from aim.  I think that samco still has the sks's and some mausers left but not for long.

I know its not a c&r but maybe saiga will offer something new soon........   I believe the 5.45x39 will be next from them.  The wait for the saiga in 7,62x54r is still going on and on.

The future of this sport looks to be grim lately.

Surplus Military collectables??  Or in a few more years just military antiques....this will put a few more zero's on the price tag for sure.

S.S.  you were right when you stated the ammo would dryup first just a few years ago.  Some of the surplus guns were soon to follow the ammo too.   I never thought the hay day of military surplus guns would come and go in our lifetime.  You would think the supply would be endless.....   I'm sure the EU has something to do with this too.  They would rather smash them and scrap them then arm us more.   I'm sure we lost many mausers and ak's in there process.

I thought about the discounts, but here lately the retailers really don't offer much of a discount. The ones that claim to are really not giving a discount.  SOG's discount on 7.62x54r Barnual soft points was $8.67 to C&R holders  when Wideners is $6.25 a box to anybody. Century and Grafs and Sons are about the same but does not even come close to what you can find from Natchezz or Wideners.  I really don't see where all the discounts are when most often you can find it cheaper other places.  The C&R license might have some benefit when doing transfers with gunbroker, but I've found that the prices there are almost as bad as my local gun shop where people want more than $400 for a beat up Yugo SKS.  I just don't see the value in the license anymore after you buy a couple of mosins.....

they will have on things. Something I am looking at now is the UN declaring lead as a
universal health threat. This will dramatically restrict how countries can import and export it.

Seriously, I doubt we'll see many more mil-surp imports.
If you have something good, keep it.
If you want something, get it ASAP.

I gotta agree. Seems like for rifles as you move forward through things that might get surplused we're about done buying up most of the surplus bolt actions the world had lying around.  As mentioned earlier most of what's left is select fire which we're simply not going to get imported for any reasonable price. 

Where I think the surplus market lies for the future, if it does continue, is with handguns.  Militaries and police departments still replace aging handguns, and (so far) military handguns are about the same as civilian versions, so there isn't the same cutoff point as with have with the long arms (ie, when the militaries of the world went to full auto).  What worries me though is that importing of surplus arms has been seen to be very profitable by American businesses, and most arms are retired long before their 50th birthday rolls around.  It seems like many of the surplus handguns that are getting imported in large batches, even if they are price reasonably, still don't qualify as C&R pieces.  I know I would have bought a PA-63 LONG ago if I could have used my C&R.

I'm glad I did listen to members on this forum and picked up 2 nice rifles last year. A Yugo 24/47 and a Mosin 91/59.. All I can say is, THANKS....

I was sort of wondering why there haven't been any pre-Vietnam M-16's on the mil-surp? Or not neccasarily pre-Veitnam rifles, but all the ones that were made during and after Vietnam. Have all of them been snatched up by these companies selling M-16/AR 15 parts kits. Sorry if this sounds out there, but was just wondering. I don't keep on older mil-surp weapons like some of you guys. Worm
