Good trip for the holiday
« on: June 30, 2009, 03:29:53 PM »
I'm sure you Ga. boys have heard, but the new infantry museum at Ft. Benning is now fully open.  It's just off base, so you don't have to sign in to go.  I guarantee it will be well worth the trip.  They have displays from ancient times to the present, and all will make you appreciate what our fighting men and women have accomplished.

If you need directions, send me a post and I'll get them to you.

It's free, they just ask for donations if you're willing.

Take I-185 South to Columbus, exit 1, (going west) onto Victory Drive.  Stay on Victory Drive until you see a McDonalds on your left.  The road you want makes a hard left behind the McDonalds.  (Lumpkin Rd.)  The museum is about 3 miles on left, just before you enter the base.

Thanks for the info. I used to drive a truck over in that area for a short time many years ago. I will put this on my places to go list this year.
