My cousin introduced me to a device of his own design this hunting season that I think is just dandy. Thought I would share it with the rest of you shooters.
He took a spotting scope, removed the tripod base attachment, and mounted it with two securing bands atop an old discarded gun stock. Now he has a portable 30x scope that aims and handles with the ease of a super-light, super-short barreled rifle. He said it is just the ticket for quick evaluation of trophy bucks when he guides in South Texas. It allows for close examination of animals beyond gun range, and a much more detailed view of animals within range.
Now, if I can just find a spotting scope for a decent price....
