Whats that thing on my hammer?

I have a Taurus .22 stainless revolver with something on the hammer.  Its just below the thumb cock and looks like a plug in or adjustment of some sort.  Anyone know what it is and what its for?

I believe you have found your revolver's lock.  Did it come with a couple of keys?

Just out of curiosity, is there any way to completely remove/disable that thing?   ???

Its a "lawyer lock". Just ignore it. If you remove or alter it you could be in trouble if you ever have to use the gun for defense or if a child or someone accidently shoots another with it. ;)

Yep... That would be the "Brady" adjustment. Installed to keep you from accidentally shooting a bad guy.
