With all the frivolous ethics complaints, that has cost her thousands of dollars in attorney fees out of her pocket.  And all the lies and smear campaigns the media has brought to the national publics attention.  I would not blame her one bit to totally withdraw from politics.

It's a real shame, she saw something wrong and tried to fix it.  In doing so she created enemies, that has undertaken to destroy her at any cost.  Her family has paid the price, many times over.  It's a sorry state when these kind of things are tolerated.
Where is old Joe when we really need him?  Alaska Independence    Calling Illegal Immigrants "Undocumented Aliens" is like calling Drug Dealers "Unlicensed Pharmacists"

A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

They are now saying that she won't run again and might be stepping down from the governorship as well.  Bad news!  I agree Sourdough - a real shame.

Yep it's a shame that she can't bring suit against those who brought frivolous suits against her. But then again maybe she just won't.

Palin will quit at the end of July.  What a shame that she was trashed by the knuckle draggers of her own party.

I liked Palin.  She didn't come from gobs of money.  She worked her way up from PTA meetings to Mayor to Governor  on her own, in order to set some things right in her own State.  She gave a couple republicans some massive amounts of grief to set things right, how many Democrats have went after their own?
There is more to the lady than good looks, she is more "normal" than most all in our state and federal legislative branches.  I can't help but like the lady, she probably figured the bogus things they were taking her to court for was costing the tax payers money, matter of fact, she said so.  I'm tired of the politial hate being generated by the "left"...they are the most bogus political type of people I have ever seen in my life.  Terrorists is what they are, they go after kids, families, you name it...they dig through your garbage to try to find something...anything...they did so with Sara Palin.

If she runs for the senate, or president....I hope she makes it, it will be the left's worst nightmare.  I would like to see her go independent party, since the republicrats don't deserve her..... they don't deserve anything at all.
I know, I'm dreamin...but a guy can dream....

I'll be interested to see where she's headed.  Her remarks today were suggestive that she is not done (with politics) yet.  I hope not.

With enough support she could run as a Republican.

The way the GOP snubbed her & hate her, running as a Republican could be quite awkward.

In the end the voters are the party if we only have a candidate we want.

I don't know if she will, but pulling out now would make sense, it would be bad to stay in office until the next Pres. political season & then run as an Independent, wouldn't work well. Besides, the GOP doesn't deserve her & it would be like working for a company that talked about you every time you leave the room, been there & done that & I can tell you it isn't worth it.

You might want to tell Congress that, looks like they forgot.  ::)

But in her case, she still would have to work with the party & they don't deserve her.

If she is going to make a run, it's good to start the groundwork now.  It's going to take a while to get the finances and the base going.  Unfortunately, I think our country is in for some rough times in the next year or two (or forever) with the disaster in power now, but that should help her and she will be a visible alternative.
I think she needs a "slick" net-based campaign capability too.  Most of the "mainstream" media won't be fair or objective for her.  I noticed today right after her announcement - which was a major bombshell news story, that CNN was still doing the Michael Jackson thing and barely mentioning Sarah Palin. Fox was all over her story. No surprise, but she has never gotten a fair shake from most of the media.

I'm hoping she can get it togeather and run for President.  The last I heard she had a $500,000.00 bill for attorney fees to pay off for all those ethics complaints.  That is personal fees she has to pay, and they are not a wealthy couple.  Once that is settled she may come back.

this woman is a fighter.  i dont believe for a second she is going to back down from anyone.  i used to believe in my country, and would have died for it once upon a time.  it is evident to me, that at this time, my country isnt worth it.
Mrs. Palin is about the only hope i see out there.   i would definately support this woman, and i would definately put my life on the line again to support her.   and IF this country can be straightened out, i will be shocked if it can be done without bloodshed.

I think if Fox is smart they will offer Sarah a gig like Huckabee got.  It would probably be very tough on her family life but it would make her some bucks and keep her out front.

On the other hand, I think the Demoncraps know that she is potentially real competition and they aren't going to let up.  Politics is for those who have no other life, or who have a mission.  It's going to be a real tough choice for her...I wish her the best in whatever she decides.

I personally would dearly love to see a Sarah Palin, Liz Cheney ticket.

This was not the sort of gesture that someone interested in advancing a political career would do. Quitting a governorship is very bad form.  She is, however, in a good position to turn her fame into a profitable asset.  It will be interesting to see whether there is a business connection between Palin and Gingrich.

Gingrich is more of the same old line that got the Republicans beat. I hope Palin has a different tack than that.

She has BIG problem, she saw what was wrong and said so, that is a no-no in todays politics.
or mabe someone else has a problem, of not listening to what the "tax payers are saying" instead of the media and wanabes. :(
