.410/45LC barrel question
« on: July 03, 2009, 11:41:13 AM »
Is this barrel considered a shotgun barrel or a rifle barrel? What I mean is... will the factory fit this barrel to shotgun frames or will they only fit it to rifle frames? I suppose I could call the factory and ask but I don't have 30 extra minutes to wait on hold to talk to someone :D

They'll fit it to shotgun or rifle frames, it comes on an SB1 frame, look at the model numbers.  ;)

I am very curious about this 45 - 410 barrel for NEF
I assume it has rifling for the 45.  Does anyone know the
rate of twist?  Also in order to be able to load a 410 shell
I assume an extra long chamber.

Not that I would try it but wouldn't that mean that
someone could MISTAKENLY insert a 454 casul
or 460 SW cartridge?

Are the barrels fairly lightweigh and thin like shotgun
barrels or are they pretty thick and heavy walled?
