I won't waste any more of my Mauser money on any pre-98 Mauser, period - no matter how pretty, collectible, or how much I liked the chambering.
I don't care if it were tagged under $50.

JMO - If you HAVE to have a 7.65 Argo, it can be had in the much nicer 1909 Model, which is a "98", with a hinged floorplate.

7.65 is a bit like .300 savage.

i would not waste money on less than a large ring rifle. i would buy a m96 swede but thats it other than the 98's. all other mausers were a work in progress leading to the 98, which has good gas handling and safe operation. those older ones can blow up in your face literally. not that they ALWAYS will but i am not messin with them to be safe.

and $200 for a rifle someone else already chopped on? nah...more like $150 at the top end.
