Hunting season opens in 37 days
« on: July 04, 2009, 08:21:11 AM »
Was talking to my hunting partner last night.  We are making plans for this years hunting trips.  Both our wives have had bouts with cancer, so we are staying close to home this year.  No two or three week trips.

But as of tomorrow we are going to put in two hours shooting every day.  No we won't be shooting our hunting rifles, most of our practice will be with 22s at 150 to 200 yards, then .223s on out to 500 and 700 yards.  August 3rd to the 7th we will shoot the big guns, 338/378 Weatherby and 378 Weatherby.  This year we are moving on out to 1000 yards.  We have to get comfortable with that range before we will attempt to shoot that far.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.
