What are your guesses as to where Sarah Palin goes now?

My guess is that she's done with politics and gets into punditry to make some money. I don't see how quitting a governorship can be used to political advantage.

From what I understand she has a book deal due sometime this fall.  She has numerous ethics complaints and about a $500,000 legal bill.  The book deal can cover the ethics legal bills and get her out from under that.  She is big with fundraiser speaches, which she could do for awhile.  Also, running for president from Alaska, could be time consuming and expensive, so moving to the lower 48 might help with that.  There is also speculation that the new governor (also Rep) might appoint her senator and the 76 year old Republican senator who is republican may resign to allow this.  This would get her into Washington to have a better base from which to run as president.

Being appointed a Senate seat is not an option.  Both of our senators are relative young.  Lisa Murkowski was appointed by her father to fill his seat when he became governor in 2002.  Lisa was then able to hold on to the seat when her only opposition was a well hated democratic ex governor.    Senator Ted Stevens was defeated due to a corrupt trial where he was wrongly found guilty and the verdict was announced a few days before the election.  That seat is now held by Mark Begich who I believe is in his 40s.  Mark is the one we need to really replace bad.  But Lisa also needs to go.

Now we do have our lone US Representative seat that is up for a vote next year.  But I can not see Don Young giving it up without a fight.

A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

I think Mrs. Palin may be like a lot of good Americans. Tired of the the low down and dirty, anything to win D.C. crowd. She signed on to a no good sob when she signed up with McCain. She should have been the presidential candidate not that fool.
I don't blame her, and I hope her lawyer makes good on his promise to sue hell out of anyone in the future making false accusations about her, or her family. I have no use for lawyers, but in this case I will make an exception.
Palin, like Paul was an opportunity missed. Folks whine about the status quo, but when given an opportunity to support a good candidate, they won't step up. McCain should have stepped up and defended her, but he treated her like toilet paper.
I have abandoned the two parties, and it would take someone like Paul or Palin to ever get me back in that load of crap.
Todd Palin should challenge Letterman to three minutes in the ring, no holds barred, and the winner donates the ENTIRE proceeds of the fight to his favorite charity.
Democrats have attempted to destroy her out of fear. Republicans have let them, out of coveting the possible opportunity to power themselves. There is no honor, or sense of right there, and hasn't been in a very long time.

I'm just amazed that there is even a story about her resigning. We work to earn a living- if I had a job that was costing me 500,000 dollars in court and lawyer fees to defend the job I was doing, I would be gone so fast you would't even see me leave! That is the problem with this sue-happy society we live in, it doesn't cost you a dime to file a complaint or sue someone, but it costs a fortune to defend yourself. The courts should be set up so that if you sue and lose, you pay ALL the court costs, there would be a whole lot less frivolous lawsuits.

mirage you are exactly right. Lawyers have ruined this country, along with bankers and politicians, whom usually are lawyers. Right and wrong have nothing to do with anything. It's how much money the lawyers can make.
I think the person making the complaint AND THE LAWYER FILING IT, should be equal partners in "repaying all loses to the so called defendant" and the court costs. Punish the accuser, and punish the two bit lawyers that take these cases EQUALLY!

ms, why on earth would "big oil" want to take her down. She was screaming "drill baby drill", at the top of her lungs, much to McCain's chagrin during the presidential campaign. If McCain had been smart enough he would have screamed with her.

Hopefully not Rosie, she might have a broken leg. However, Sarah could probably do a good armbar or choke hold. ;)

Dee:  Big Oil is not Sara Palin's friend.  British Patrolium hates her.  The big oil companies have been sitting on the natural gas deposits for over 30 years.  Tom Irwin the Chief of Alaska Dept Of Natural Resources, told Governor Murkowski that the leases for Point Thompson, the most accessible gas field, should be canceled and reissued since BP and partners had refused to produce the resource.  Governor Murkowski fired Tom Irwin for suggesting it.  Meanwhile Murkowski started a sweetheart deal that would have given Big Oil huge incentives to produce the field.  Big tax breaks, long term leases, and grants to help finance the construction of a pipeline.

Enter Sara Palin.  Sara ran on a platform of forcing Big Oil to develop the fields.  If not then there should be consequences.  Sara was overwhelmingly elected during the Primary and the General election.  Her first act as Governor was to reinstate Tom Irwin.  Her second was to give him the go ahead to pull the leases on Point Thompson.

The leases were pulled and Big Oil took the state to court.  Big Oil lost.  I would not be one bit surprised if a lot of Sara's problems were helped along by Big Oil, and their money.

Well, I don't think we've heard the last of her yet. Me thinks she has a plan, and she needs some time and space to work it out. As far as a contest between Letterman and Todd. Letterman is an idiot, but I don't think he's that stupid. He probably hasn't lifted anything heavier than a martini glass in the last 20 years. Todd does some commercial fishing. Anybody know how hard it is to pull nets, even with all the power winches on the big boats, it's still hard work and keeps a person in shape. Still, it would be nice to see him get slapped around a bit. gypsyman

I think she may go third party.  She has been constantly hounded by the left, and ignored by the right.  She does speak for Christian conservative Americans and the common people.
