I think the poor are going to be the hardest hit. When investors and entrepeneurs stop spending, the poor suffer the most. But the poor are also numerous enough and stupid enough to keep him and people like him in power.

It's good to see that his political nicknames focus on policy. And why not, his policies have been so bad that they open him up for much ridicule in that vein. Although he's been in office just over six months it seems like it's been a coon's age. During that time he has shown no niggardly tendencies when spending other peoples' money. He has spooked investors around the world, and has created a lasting black cloud over our economy.

Questor, I liked it.  I think you should submit it to your local news rag (Letters to the Editor) for publication.  Heck, I'd like to send it to our paper and see if the copy editor is sharp enough to get it.

It would appear you can only exersize freedom of speech if it is PC these days . Yes it could be considered a racist remark by some but should he not have the right to express it ?

Yes, unless it is something the site forbids or gets the site in trouble with Big Brother and I believe we are being watched.
BTW I as a Canadian am probably as frustrated and ticked off at your Administration and both Houses as most of you but to keep the peace here I am restraining myself with comments.

Americans have the right to free speech. I guess I don't need any input from those that are not Americans.

A few years ago southeast alaska villages recieved the canadian tv channel. I liked to watch the news, gave a very different prespective of our current events than the american media.

I also watch the link channel and pat robinsons news programs for the same reason. Our own media are a bunch of liars.  >:( Hardly worth watching. The Micharl Jackson coverage is a case in point.

PastorP:

That's funny! I do something similar. When I really want to know what's going on in the US, I read the Bermudan news.

As a matter of fact, I do value short wave. I particularly like the spin from the communist countries. It is amazing  how far apart our media was from the red chinese propaganda news several years ago, and equally amazing how similar they are today.

Maybe being a racist isn't politically correct, or even socially acceptable--unless you are something other than white, but I would be a liar and a hypocrite if I said I'm not.  I just try to keep it tamped down a little when I'm out in public.

What is racism? As I learned in Anthropology class the human genome is made up of one race. The human race. We are homo sapian sapian. Now if there were some of the homo sapien neandertalis still alive we could have racism. What we can have is a hatred of other cultures, colors, or ethnicities. Not hatred of a race as there is NO other race to hate. I being 1/8 black have been accused of being a"racist" by some of the guilty liberals because of some of the words I chose to use.

Human races as human variation
Arguments against the existence of human races (the taxa 'Mongoloid', 'Caucasoid' and 'Negroid' and those from other classifications) include those stated for subspecies10 and several others15. The within- to between-group variation is very high for genetic polymorphisms (85%; refs. 16,17). This means that individuals from one 'race' may be overall more similar to individuals in one of the other 'races' than to other individuals in the same 'race'. This observation is perhaps insufficient18, although it still is convincing because it illustrates the lack of a boundary. Coalescence times19, 20 calculated from various genes suggest that the differentiation of modern humans began in Africa in populations whose morphological traits are unknown; it cannot be assumed from an evolutionary perspective that the traits used to define 'races' emerged simultaneously with this divergence15. There was no demonstrable 'racial' divergence.

Y-chromosome and mitochondrial DNA genealogies are especially interesting because they demonstrate the lack of concordance of lineages with morphology15 and facilitate a phylogenetic analysis. Individuals with the same morphology do not necessarily cluster with each other by lineage, and a given lineage does not include only individuals with the same trait complex (or 'racial type'). Y-chromosome DNA from Africa alone suffices to make this point. Africa contains populations whose members have a range of external phenotypes. This variation has usually been described in terms of 'race' (Caucasoids, Pygmoids, Congoids, Khoisanoids). But the Y-chromosome clade defined by the PN2 transition (PN2/M35, PN2/M2) shatters the boundaries of phenotypically defined races and true breeding populations across a great geographical expanse21. African peoples with a range of skin colors, hair forms and physiognomies have substantial percentages of males whose Y chromosomes form closely related clades with each other, but not with others who are phenotypically similar. The individuals in the morphologically or geographically defined 'races' are not characterized by 'private' distinct lineages restricted to each of them.

I think I got through about 1/5 of that post without having more then the faintest idea what this was all about. Then my eyes crossed and the braincells rebelled.

Did that arcticle say that some folks of one race group are closer related to some folks from another group then to their own??!!

Anyway that is what I got out of it. ::)
