For those who own or have shot the "Anniversary" and the regular SBH 44, how does the quality compare between the two models. For example, are throats correctly sized and what kind of accuracy do you get?

The reason I ask is I saw one at the store today and I was particularly amazed at this particular specimen's lack of any endshake. Also, I noticed the grips were pretty flush with the grip frame. I did not have my feeler guages with me to measure barrel/cylinder gap, but I did not notice much daylight through the gap. Cylinder fit pretty tight on the basepin. In contrast, my 4-5/8" 45 Blackhawk has all kinds of slop in the endshake, as well as loose basepin fit.

I was wondering if these guns are better built than the regular versions, or did I accidently stumble upon a good one? I almost bought it on the spot, but really don't have the money right now. Price was $469.

I have one and it shoots so far to the left to get it zeroed i had to run the sight so far over it looks stupid even to the unknowning when it comes to guns.  I just put it in the closet and left it there.  I will send it back someday I guess.
Just like a Taurus 44 mag titanium I shot the other day but it was also about 6 inches high at 50 offhand with the sight bottomed out.  the Taurus shot to the right though.

I love mine too. It shoots extremely accurately, no probs at all. At 100 yards it is spot on from a 25 yard zero but about 3 inches low. I will be using mine as a hunting weapon, it will not be babied. I find the fit and finish to be excellent, I prefer the flat top frame to the Super Blackhawk as well. The trigger was great out of the box, I removed one of the sping legs and it is a first class trigger now. No regrets with this revolver at all.

my buddys barrel came loose on his when it was new and had to go back to ruger. I sent mine off to have the barrel shortened and have never shot it to be honest. There made by the same people on the same machines so i would have to guess that quality control is the same on both.

Mine also shot to the left so I sent it back to Ruger, was fixed and sent back very quickly.  I also suspect the same worker make the 50th as other BHs so the quality is pretty much the same.  The Ruger trigger needed some work but otherwise it is a very fine shooter.  As another mentioned I also do not intend to baby this revolver and it will be a hunting/working gun for me. I paid a little over $400 for mine so I expect FA quality which costs 3-4 times+ as much?  Of course not but I do expect a good shooting functional revolver and that is just what my .44 50th BH is.

My 50th Anniv. Flat top Blackhawk shoots great and has a better trigger and seems tighter than common Blackhawks. But wait the O.P. said Super Blackhawk. Those are 50th anniversary of the Super Blackhawk and have a 7.5" barrel and gold rings around the cylinder and if you found one for 469 you better grab it. ;)

FWIW....in mine

429421 sized .429
7.5 grs W231
starline brass
CCI lg pistol primer

it will cut a ragged hole @ 25 meters off a bag.it is just a solid mid-level load that shoots great.
