water clarity

what makes the water clear and murky.when i spearfish in the mornings its mostly clear and thats during high tide, but in the afternoons the water is always filthy and its during low tide. is this the cause of it or just a coincidents ???

Clear water comes in as tide rises, durty water is flushed out as tide drops. Generally, the water will be clearest at high tide.
