Of course one can never make promises for an individual gun, but the very first load I ever tried with 180 gr 30 cal ballistic tips turned in the very best group I ever shot in my 300 win mag.  And I've shot close to 2000 rounds through the gun with everything from Sierra match to Winchester and Rem bulk bullets.

So I'd say the ballistic tips are worth a try.

I think BTs are great and they are accurate.  I've killed a bunch of deer and exotic sheep and goats with them.  Wouldn't use'm on anything bigger than 150lbs...just my opinion......

I've used 150 gr and 165 gr ballistic tips in my 30-06 for at least 25 years.  They are super accurate, especially out of my Ruger M77.  And I have killed probably 30 deer over the years with both the 150's and 165's.   That being said, they can be pretty destructive on the meat, especially if you hit bone.  They are essentially a hollow-point with a plastic insert.  I have recently gone to Hornady interlock bullets, they seem to expand well and hold up better.
The older I get...The better I was.
