TC Encore frame price
« on: July 11, 2009, 05:11:07 AM »
What do you guys feel would be a fair price to pay for a used stainless Encore rifle frame with wood stock, no barrel or forearm. Also how do most of you feel about resale in general for Contender and Encores. Seems used ones in my neck of the woods stay on the gun shops racks for a long time.
Thanks in advance.......................buckey

Spend some time browsing the Contender and Encore Classifieds, you'll see what they sell for, we don't remove ads once they sell so people like yourself can do price checks.  ;)

The price I would consider paying for a used stainless steel Encore frame in excellent condition would be from $275 to $300; maybe 325 for a Pro Hunter frame.

The wooden buttstock doesn't add that much to the price; maybe $35.

The frames and barrels in gun shops in my neck of the woods seem to be way overpriced; I would never buy one there.  I saw a stainless steel barrel in Cabela's "Bargain Cave" and, if I remember correctly, the price was over $300.  What a crock; I've picked up multiple Encore and Contender barrels, stainless steel and otherwise, in new to excellent condition (including a couple of stainless steel Pro Hunter barrels) for in the $155 to $215 range with many including extras like bases and rings.  Shop the forums like Graybeard Outdoors and auction sites and, if you're patient, you can snap up a good deal.

From what I can tell prices are all over the place depending on where your at. Used ones don't seem to move very fast, rather pay a fair price , just need too find out what that is

Not sure about used prices, but I just had my dealer order me a NEW Stainless-Steel Encore Frame with Composite Buttstock & Forend. His price was $395.00 out the door.

Check out your local pawn shops. I have found a couple three bargains in my area. Also have seen them way over priced. Picked up two new looking Tender pistols,  one a SS with 14" 30-30, the other Blue with a 14" 7-30Waters, both with cheap scopes for $325.00 each. Not needing anything but the frames I sold barrels, scopes and grip sets leaving me having about $100.00 in each frame.

Been to pawn shops, Been to gun shops, seems that you only find these when you don't need one. Most that I've found have been suspect in one way or another. Have had people try to sell to me on the internet with out going through a FFL, you know, ship direct.Have found some that were made of gold?
I'll only do FTF, even if I have to travel a little ways. It will work out some way.

Standard Stainless-Steel Frame, Composite Buttstock & Forend, NOT A Pro Hunter.

I was quoted $20.00 less from another Gunshop but they didn't want what I wanted to trade in.
