When the movie "A Gunfight" starring Johnny Cash and Kirk Douglas in 1971 was being made, it almost didn't happen. A discussion off set took place about gun control and Kirk Douglas STRONGLY VOICED that none should have guns but the elite. Cash took great exception to that belief, and noted that Douglas was in to make a lot of money on this movie by PORTRAYING men with guns.
Cash set about the task of kicking Douglas's ass, but was stopped and due to contracts signed the movie was made, and the rest is history.

My point here? THIS IS NOT NEW IN HOLLYWOOD. IT IS STANDARD OPERATION PROCEEDURE. THESE FOLKS HAVE ARMED BODY GUARDS. WE ARE THE PEASANT IN THE WOODS. THE PEASANT STUPIDLY MAKES THE ELETE "RICHER" GIVING THEM THE LOUDER VOICE ON "OUR NEEDS AND RIGHTS".

Thanks for posting.  Good list.  People should know these things.

I notice my denomination is listed.  Every once in a while our bishop urges people to go to the state capitol and let the leislators know how much we want more gun control.  I always tell them that I'll be there - on the oppositie side of the street with my sign.

I am trying to get a sporting clays club going at our church, and encouraging the Boy Scouts that we sponsor to participate.

Atta boy C-man they must be told!

When are these folk gonna understand that the jeanie is out of the bottle!? At this point gun control is just a means of taking guns out of the hands of law abiding citizens! the "bad guys" will have them! I know this is preaching to the choir but it cant be said enough!  I will only be a law abiding citizen til the law prevents me from owning and using my firearms for defense and hunting!

Paul Newman was a very good actor and played a lot of roles that I liked, but he was a leftist, he had a right to any politics he wanted but to use his position as a "celebrity" to preach politics made me avoid him and anything he was involved in once I learned his views.

Dont support the people on this list, Not only that but tell them why you wont !

I came up with a name for that a few years ago. I call it the MTV syndrome. Just because you're a famous actor or musician does not mean I give a darn about your political or religious beliefs.

Country music singers and movie cowboys arn't farmers, cowboys, or necessarily rednecks. They are actors "playing like". Actors and traveling musician troops  have historicaly been looked down on because they were good at thier craft. They make you believe what isn't true. They were often crooks. Gypsies, robbers and thieves. It astounds me that thier openions carry any weight in modern times. The masses are easily decieved. Entertainers are just mass marketers. eddie

eddiegjr, I think you should look into the backgrounds of the country singers, most have deep roots, hail from a shooting gun toting community,  are hunters and fishermen and support the right to bear arms.  As for the actors, you may be close, but I think you are way off base with the country singers.

Going over the list of people opposed to guns looks like a list of draft dodging limp wrist wennies.  Most nhave never contributed a damn thing (other than tax dollars) toward the defense and building of this country.

As I have said several times in the past, with the mentality of most Americans today this country is in very sad shape.

I notice my denomination is listed.  Every once in a while our bishop urges people to go to the state capitol and let the leislators know how much we want more gun control.

I think that I would find another church. That is unacceptable behavior in my book and I certainly wouldnt be putting anything on their collection plate.

In responce to my e-mail to Levi I received the following....that sealed the case, no more Levi products for me! >:( >:( >:( >:(

William

Thanks for taking the time to contact us.

For several years, Levi Strauss & Co. has focused on empowering youth to make social change on issues they care about.  A leading concern among youth is the increase in gun violence.

We hope to take a leadership position on this issue by supporting PAX, a non-profit anti-violence organization, dedicated to the vision of a society free of gun violence.  Levi Strauss & Co. supports PAX's goal to bring all Americans together to support common sense solutions to the gun violence epidemic.

If you'd like more information about the PAX organization, please visit their web site at www.paxusa.org.

If there's anything else we can help you with, just email us back or give us a call at 1-800-USA-LEVI.  We're available Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 4:30pm Pacific Time.

Thanks again,

Jorge

Before the rest of us get the pleasure of seeing you walk around in your underwear I'd like to mention the following
1. I checked the PAX site and couldn't find any mention of gun control or removing guns from citizens
2. PAX appears to be devoted to stopping gun violence.
3. The ASK program is about kids and guns laying around the house
4. The SPEAK UP program is about stopping Columbine like incidents
I'm an NRA member and am all about the right to bear arms. I don't have any problems with what they are saying on the PAX site.

Am I missing something?

crustaceous.  First, I haven’t bough a pair of Levis since I was introduced to Wranglers forty years ago so I ain’t gonna be running round naked………….. ;D

As for my concern with PAX, it is like many other “gun-control” organizations operating with a hidden agenda.  The organization looks upright from the front but is secretly poisoning the minds of youth against guns, as these youngster grow older they will be more incline to support total gun control.  It is a tactic used by many different groups; didn’t Hitler use such a guise to sway the thinking of his youth? Before jumping in bed with this tiger I want to check all its spots.  Several articles I have read say there is more to PAX than meets the eye.

Anti gun groups not only are fooling our children, I would imagine a lot of the gun owning BHO supporters are dumb enough to believe the propaganda of anti gunners like pax. I bet we even have some here that have fell for it.

Slim the saddest part is that it is not only the young ones. I have talked to many adult BHO supporters that are also gun owners ans shooter. I wonder how they survived to adulthood as stupid as they are.

Part of the reason for that is that our Government controlled schools Don't teach the kids anything about the Constitution nor any of the Amendments.   The "history" that they do teach in school these days is so twisted to the left it hardly resembles anything that actually happened.

Then BHO muddies the waters even further by apologizing to the world for the US getting involved in world affairs.  Yeah, I'm sure the French and Italians would be much happier if they were speaking German or Japanese today.
