CZ 453 American bore size
« on: July 13, 2009, 05:01:47 PM »
I bought a used 22lr that someone had abused the last inch of the muzzle with a drill bit, I quess they were trying to remove something that was stuck.  I have cut off the last inch and have purchased a muzzle crown facing tool that is piloted.  The problem is that I haven't identified the bore size so I could
buy a pilot that will fit in my bore.  I have tried .218, .217, .216, and they are all to big. I'm wondering if any of you would happen to know what size bore I might have.  I could leave it like it is now it shoots great, I made a crooked cut and its kind of ugly so I'm curious if the accuracy will improve.

 Thanks Jeff

Well by process of elimination I was able to determine the bore size and for future reference my bore size is.212.  After facing the muzzle I am able to shoot 10 shot one hole groups at 50 yards!   The hacksaw groups were 3/4 ".
