LCR price quote

Yesterday, I handled a new LCR for the first time and was impressed with everything except the trigger pull.  I have shot and owned many double action handguns and expected a lighter pull on the LCR.  It seemed to be harder than my Kel-Tec P-32 but I could be wrong and the LCR should lighten up after a couple hundred rounds.  The gun shop owner gave me a price of $430 for one without a laser.  Is this a good price?  Any comments would be appreciated.

Last gun show had S&W airweights for 370 to 390 depending on whos table you looked on

The Ruger LCR's SLP is $525 for the standard model and $792 for the laser gripped model.

S&W's M438/642 have an SLP of $600 and the M442's SLP is $877 with the laser grips.

So Ruger's sugested retail is a little lower than S&W's when comparing similar guns.   I have not seen enough LCR's in the shops to get a handle on the "real world" pricing yet but they should be or could be very competitive if the dealers don't try to shaft us.

Oldhunter, your comments on the LCR's trigger surprised me. Every article/review I've read on the LCR all crow about how smooth and crisp the trigger is on the LCR.  Maybe the one you handled needed a little cleaning or it was an exception to the rule.   

I'm not ready to trade my S&W M60 for an SLR just yet.  I would find the LCR much more appealing if Ruger were to make a six shot version chambered in .327 Federal Magnum.

Suggested retail and real world cost are never the same . If that Ruger sells for more than an airweight i would not buy one and i like Rugers .
The guns at the show were new from dealers .

My local mom & pop store has one for $450, and everything in their store is generally overpriced..that seems fair though.  I shot one the other day and it was very smooth.  I still prefer my LCP just for size differences..the LCR shot a HELL of a lot better though.  It was super easy to shoot and surprisingly accurate. 

The trigger pull was 12 lbs(owner said he checked it himself).  It was very clean though.
