How do you tell what kind of rifling I have in my nib Marlin lc45 1894 rifle ? Picture comming soon

Most, but not all, Microgroove barrels are so marked on the side; but the surest way is to count the grooves.

Microgrooved barrels have 12; Ballard-rifled barrels, a little more than half as many.

There are other types of rifling, but AFAIK, those are the only two that Marlin uses.

According to Marlin, the 1894 rifles have Ballard rifling.  Still, counting the grooves is as good a way to tell as any.
