Well, time to lose some more jobs
« on: July 16, 2009, 04:13:25 AM »
The minimum wage is going up again. Time to fire some more entry-level employees and put out of business a lot of businesses that depend on low wage help.

It's great that we have a minimum wage and now that we've got a minumum of jobs--we're set.  All part of the early retirement program--I guess.

Many people consider the minimum wage increase to be a wonderful thing. The problem with the increase is that it allways rolls down hill.   Wage increase = price increase for goods and services.  It's a no win situation. If you make more money you are going to pay more.

Happy days are here again
The skies above are clear again
So let's sing a song of cheer again
Happy days are here again
Altogether shout it now
There's no one
Who can doubt it now
So let's tell the world about it now
Happy days are here again.

Funny thing, this song came out right before the Depression.
Since FDR's use of the song, it has come to be recognized as the unofficial theme of the Democratic Party.

No, maybe, yes?   It just seems so ironic, and history just keeps on repeating itself. All that guvment talk about the 'green shoots' in the economy, 'recession on it's way out', "yes we can".
What do they say? 'The light at the end of the tunnel is a freight train coming at you'?

You'll find "Yes, we can." painted in different languages all over the world over the last 100 years. In german, on a vw full of brown shirts. In chinese, on a poster, carried by machete wielding students. In spanish & portugese, on arm bands, worn by guerillas. In Arabic, on a web site, next to instructions on how to build a suicide vest.

I wonder if they're intentionally accelerating the handbasket so that when the economy is totally shot, we'll be easier to manipulate.

Many union contracts are tied to the minimum wage. BHO paying back supporters. Only thing is the union stooges are to stupid to know that they are just causing inflation.

I am puzzled by your post.
I don't get where you are coming from.
You voted for this Obama.
You seem to favor left wing ideology.
What did you think was going to happen?

It will raise the unemployment rate, I suppose that BHO doesn't think that rate is high enough yet.

But why stop at $7.25? If the goal is to make it a LIVING wage why not $20.00 an hour? Democrats know about what makes an economy work about as well as I understand quantum physics.IDIOTS**

Overpaid union labor is more of a problem than the minimum wage increase. Poor people barely getting by have to wait for the gov't to increase wages. Union labor just screams and cries and goes on strike when they want more money.  ;)

Just out of curiousity... how many of you guys complaining about a wage increase are making minimum wage. :-X   Probably not one of you.

Spanky you are very correct that overpriced union labor is a huge cause of inflaition. Being many union contracts are tied to the minimum wage, raising minimum wage will casuse inflation.

Hey it might be a great time to put on some dept, if we can get some crazy inflation of goods and wages. Pre inflation dept will be a bargain.
