thanks for your ideas all of you.... It seems like that when i shoot,, i unconsciously flinch.....How to break the  "habit"???????
any ideas???

I shoot colt walker.
451 ball
been using 20 grs. will adjust to 30.
tightened wedge,,, It was a bit loose... I could  take down the revolver by simply pushing the wedge out  with hands.... will tighten.
have homebrew  rest.. It is sturdy....Should I invest in one that  holds totally my revolver?

Will give it another go around soon and let you know what has happened.

thanks guys very  much..... Looking forward to your responses  and ideas....One of these times, I will write to you  and Shout "Idid It!"
Much  thanks to you..

Let me add to my other post about using non primary hand to shoot.  You are holding and shooting one of the heaviest pistols out there, and, when fully loaded, one of the most powerful.  Until the advent of the .357 Mag. the Walker was the most powerful production pistol ever made.  These facts magnify my point about being muscled in to the pistol, especially with your left hand.

i would reccomend that you practice holding and aiming that pistol left handed on a daily basis.  I do this while watching TV, but you can do it anywhere people won't faint.  Do this for a couple hours a day for a month and see how your groups fare.

I also notice you are shooting .451 in that Walker.  I started shooting those in my.44 navy replica and in my 1860 army.  I barely shaved lead with either pistol, and my shots were all over the place.  I moved up to .454 and things tightened up quite a bit.  I believe there are .457 size balls available as well.  I would reccommend going up a size and see if that changes anything as well.

Definitely try a .457 ball.  I use that size in my 1860 and for two or three cylinder-fulls, it will shoot very small groups until the barrel gets loaded with crud.  The larger ball has more bearing surface and grips the rifling better.

I am 6' and 230 but don't think I would want to shoot a Walker off hand, especially with my weak hand and weak eye - as you are doing.  You are shooting pretty well to get 10 inch groups.   Lots of practice will help hold it off hand but I still believe you should do more from a rest or shoot over your knees in a sitting position to see what the pistol is capable of.  Confidence is a large portion of this game and you need to know where it is hitting.
