T/C Omega .45 cal

At the gun store the other day & thought I seen a omega 45 cal. Never heard any thing about those. It had a descent price on it. Whats the word on these. Whats the twist rate . Any reviews would be good.

What kind of price? I have been keeping an eye on a brand new SS/Composite for a few months. If it ever goes down It might push me over the edge. The price is $320 right now. They have a 1:28 twist barrels. you just don't hear much about them.

Busta Its was $250 I believe Used gun rack. But it  looked clean , Didnt look down the bore, I was just browesing, But I got to wondering if it would fit in my X7 stock. Maybe cut the barrel down to 24 inches. Its the first time Ive seen an Omega in .45 Its the last thing in the world I "need" right now but you know how that goes. I ll swing thru next week , If its still there, MAYBE Ill put it on layaway

I'm not positive, but I don't think it will fit the X7 stock.  The barrels have a different contour.  They did make a few X7 45's.  Rare as hen's teeth...

I am pretty sure Denny is right on the stock. The X7 barrels were contoured way down with fluted receiver area. That is not to say that with a rasp/sandpaper/Dremel and some judicious elbow grease that it couldn't be done. I always had a soft spot for the X7, if they would have made one without the QLA I would have owned one years ago.

I did not know they made a .45 in the X7, thanks for that information. Now I will have to look at every one I see.

My thoughts were ,The fluted reciever is above the stock. Whats the dia of a 45 barrel as opposed to  contured 50. Maybe not so much sanding as you,d think.  Would everything else line up. The trigger housing, But if theymade the X7 in 45 cal. Wow .I guess Im gonna have to start looking closer at the X7s Im seeing which arent many

I know the flutes are above the stock, but doesn't the contour start well into the stock. I know they cut some weight off with that contour. The standard .45 barrel probably has the same contour as the standard .50 cal.

There is really only one way to find out if it would fit, but I'm bettin ther will be some elbow grease involved.

Im gonna take a look in the morning. Maybe take some measurements. Then go take a look at the 45 again.  I dont know why but I got a hankering for a 45 cal ML. & Im thinking the X7 would be the perfect platform

I saw th 45 in a Cabelas catalogue a few months after I bought mine, but mama said no!  I don't think they made very many.
