Howitsers
« on: July 22, 2009, 07:58:54 AM »
Does anyone have pictures of a howitser they've built and the dimensions of the barrel?  I've got a piece of steel that I think would make a nice howitser, but I'm not sure about what the final dimensions (length to bore) should be.

I'm interested in something with an ID between 1.75" to 2.25".  The unsleeved piece will be 4" OD and the sleeve will increase it to 6" OD.  Not sure about what the total length should be, but would like to keep it in the 14" range (8" of bore depth).

Thank ya'll again.

A US Mountain Howitzer scaled to golf ball bore (1.719") will be about 13.83" long and 2.825" in diameter over the breech ring.
