Quality Inline
« on: July 22, 2009, 09:45:10 AM »
Hi,
I see a decent number of used inlines that look nice and clean.
Some with stainless barrels.
Prices look really good.

What OLDER inlines were and still are considered Quality, will give a number of years of good service, or were even made better than newer offerings?

What are the models to look for used?

For example, are the older bolt actions from Remington fairly bulletproof?  How about the Knight disc guns or the Revolution?

And ideas?
Thanks!

I have 3 Knight Disc rifles, older ones that take the orange discs & one 'Extreme' that takes the red disc. I like them & they perform very well. There are used & new ones for sale on some of the web sites most of the time. Of course if you buy used be sure to ask how it was cleaned & have the right for an inspection.

I suggest u read through some of the old post here and find the ones that r troublesome and steer clear of them. I Have a huntsman NEF, traditions lightning and TC omega all shoot very well with the right load and I think you will find that the case with most ML'ers. Some are very diffucult to clean and other a breeze. I havnt shot my lightning in a couple of yrs due to cleaning it. The Huntsman and omega are easy to clean as are many others. When you find one you like do a search and see if anything comes up you dont like about it.

To me, the break open actions are easier to clean, because i take the barrel off and wash it. The simpler the better, the fewer parts, the better.

NEF Huntsman/Sidekick. Simple, affordable and VERY accurate with nearly anything you dump down their throats.

If you run across a remington ML700 I would recommend it. It is a little more work to clean than some of the newer guns, but it is a well made shooting iron. Drop a stronger hammer spring in it and you should have no problems. I found mine to shoot the best with 300 grain hornady XTP bullets and pyrodex pellets.
