Scope base on Octagon barrels

Any problem with using a Weaver 92 base on an ocatagon barrel?

 Not that I am aware of, used to use the older rail mounts, but have have used a couple of the Weaver 92A Midway # 242441 blue
 mounts also sold in silver on a couple of my octagon bbls with satisfactory results.

Seems like I remember when my dad put a scope mount onto his old octagon 22lr barrel that there were only 3 screw holes.  Not a problem, just that there are only 3 to mount the base with.  Just be sure to snug them down good, 3 should hold just fine especially if you use a light weight scope like a fixed 2x or 4x.

    All my octagon barrels, including a couple of real old T-2's have the same 4 hole pattern and spacing of a brand new barrel.  On my octagon barrels, especially with a relatively small scope, I prefer the TC one piece mount & rings(the one where the lower half of the ring is intergal with the base).
