I'm not sure the dash number or barrel length really makes a difference. Condition however makes ALL the difference in the world. These days I don't see many of the older S&Ws laying around in gun shops most used S&Ws seem to be from more recent times.
Those I have seen in the last couple years generally seem to have prices in the $475 to $600 price range on them. Probably the best way to see what they are selling for nationally is to check the various gun auction sites like Gun Broker and Auction Arms and such to see what they sell for there.
Prices on S&W in general have gone thru the roof these last few years. It's hard for me to believe folks are actually paying the prices I'm seeing on them especially those from their so called custom shop most of which to me are so ugly I'd not want them for free. I've seen some marked closer to Freedom Arms prices than what I think of as S&W price range. Needless to say I've passed on all such.
