It has rained every afternoon for almost six straight weeks. When it rains, it POURS. I prep'd the fields in MAY '09, got ready to seed in early June and before I got out to seed, the place was awash. Perhaps I have saved the seed from a sure drowning. I wonder how late I can wait? I would be pushing September, if the deer leave the new shoots alone, before the seed begins to mature. Then it is bow season right after that. I wanted a Summer crop and another in late October. NOt to be I guess. Their antler growning and day beds are pretty well established by now.
