Not around Bowling Green KY.  We are having a relatively cool and wet July.  Average is supposed to be around 90 degrees, we have been mainly in the 80's with an occasional high in the 70's.

I'd gladly trade hot and dry for cool and wet, that's why I've lived here all my life, normally mild winters and only a few hot days a year and rarely over 95-100º, you can dress for cold and wet, you can't for hot, 50-60º and overcast is an ideal day in my book, I hate hot!   :(

Strange isn't it.  Here in Georgia we're having a mild summer.  Maybe the weather patterns are shifting?  I feel for you folks out that way Tim.  You aren't prepared for the heat like we are, and likewise, we don't know what to do with extreme cold or snow.  A 1" snow in Ga. will shut things down for a while.

We were out in Bremerton a few years ago and it got to 90.  Most of my daughter's neighbors did not have air conditioning!

Tim,
I spent some time in Aberdeen and Hoquiam (Point Grenville) in the early sixties and if the temp got to 90 degrees, the humidity was BRUTAL. I can't imagine 106. Good luck.

You could have invited the Ga. delegation from GB's along you know.  I'm sure the wife wouldn't have minded!  We could help you track them little bitty teeny weeny polka dot bikinis!

Last year we went deep sea fishing and a bunch of us shared a condo.  One of the fella's had a nice video camera that I used without his knowledge to film some of them little bikinis.  He's kind of a spoil sport and can't take a joke and won't go fishing with us any more!!

I am in NE Indiana and we are relatively wet and cool, I guess like Kentucky. They are talking of maybe a record for the coolest July on record. Usually the grass has a browned out by now, unless irrigated, but it is still growing pretty well and is green.

On suday I took my friends kid to shoot sporting clays in Turlock, about an hour and a half away.
the range temp was about 95 and saw 102 on the way back to Pacifica that was 61 at 4 in the afternoon.

Howdy!
Sorry to hear you fellas are having such a heat wave.  I'm 50 miles west of the Tetons and it is just 80 this afternoon.  We have had a really cool and wet summer.  Elk season opens here on Saturday...

Down here in Louisiana we have had about as dry and hot July as I can remember. We got a little rain last week and it's raining right now. I hate to get the elec. bill because of the heat.

Mid 70's in Kansas City Metro now, after 80s and 90s. We have been a little cooler than normal. Close to or already exceeded our 4" rainfall record for the month. Give me mid 70s during the day, 50s in the morning and only rain at night. I need a motorhome, and I have my ideal weather mapped out around the U.S., then every month drive to the next location with 70s daytime and 50s morning. Dreaming....I used to dream as a kid of someplace that would only rain at night.

If I remember right, last year you guys were all hunting boats to escape the great flood.  Now its a heat wave.  I think its because you are too close to California.  Too many "ill winds" blowing your way from their legislature.

Here in central N.Y. we just got our first 90 degree day today. it was 92 at about 2:30 and very humid! I had been enjoying the cooler summer this year. I'm happy with high 60's low 70's. I blame it on the old ukrainian blood in my family. I usaully wear shorts year round, and have even been known to bow hunt in shorts!

Tim,  58F yesterday at 8 am went out in my Kayak til 11AM and it got to hot to paddle at 86F. This morning 58 again and rain so we went home. No point hanging around the the cabin when it rains. Rain makes it really feel cold.

The lake is still too cold for me to go swimming.

It has been nice here in Nebraska. Only one day at 90.  We could see a record cool July. Hope it breaks for you soon. Tempers get shot when it is too hot too long.   Clark

OK don't laugh, 80 today and the mid 80s tomorrow.  For us that is just as bad as 110 for you guys.  It's a proven scientific fact that for us that live in the cold climate, our bodies acclimate to the cold weather and we can not tolerate hot weather as well as people that live in hot climates.

I run around in shirt sleeves at zero, no coat, just a vest.  I'm comfortable then to be out working all day like that.  But this 80 degree weather has got me down to the point that I can't do anything outside.  I'm sitting here now in my boxers, sweating like mad, and it's 76 degrees in the house.  We don't have Air Conditioning.  This is unseasonably warm for us.  And we are fighting smoke, I spend last Tuesday in the hospital due to breathing problems due to smoke from the forest fires we have going on now.  And the hot dry weather we are having only adds to the problem.

Yes I can relate to living in hot areas, I grew up in Tennessee.  And have spent years living and working outside in Nevada, Arizona and New Mexico.   I can remember when I thought 110 was a good day, after it being over 120 for a week.
Where is old Joe when we really need him?  Alaska Independence    Calling Illegal Immigrants "Undocumented Aliens" is like calling Drug Dealers "Unlicensed Pharmacists"
What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.
