layout blinds (field hunting geese)

Goose season is about a month away and I'm thinking about picking up a layout blind. I've never tried one, but hunted with a guy that had one once and was very impressed by it. I'm looking for recommendations on brands/models and features that are must haves or just gimmicks. I don't have a huge amount to spend ($300 Canadian or less, so probably stuff that retails for $250 US or less).

This is what I use.  Final approach eliminator.  It's in your price range too.

I also use pop-up blinds for places where you can break up their profile.  They also work for rifle deer hunting.

Check out Rodgers sporting goods they have a few in that price range. They have there store brand with 6 decoys on special for $200.00 dont no the quality yet my buddies just orderd three of them we will see when they come in how well there made and function.

Workin Man, I have used them all, what I have finally gone to is the Gear Down Blanket Blind made by Expedite.  Easiest, lightest weight, best blind out.  no parts to lose, no pins to put in place, easy to pack out, has a blanket pullover and head support that is adjustable, with stubble straps, can't beat the price or the convenience, also the easiest to move around in the spread.

chiefs can you post a pic of your blanket blind? I've used something like it for years now.   :)

I started hunting geese here in Colorado back in the 70's when we had to have a carcass tag for our one goose limit...it was like deer hunting. We hunted from pits and used twine to make the decoys move so that we could attract the flights off Terry Lake in north Ft Collins. Compared to what I do today...it was stone age man...but it was awesome.

Years and years have gone by and my style of goose hunting has blossomed several times. You want to get the layout blind...it has completely changed my world.
