Whats holsters are you guys using? I am gonna be in search of one for the most proetction coverage on my pistol. ATVing gets very dusty, anybody reccomend a flap type holster for a Glock 17?

Guess you have two options.
Either Nylon or plastic.
The plastic are good and hold the gun in with a positive click. Held in by friction.
There are also the more expensive plastic with the draw button that holds the gun in till you push the relaese button and pull the gun out
the nylon will be able to snug closer into your body and give you a positive retainer
either will be able to be hosed off to get rid of the dust.

Fobus has worked well for me. I've used the same Fobus paddle holster for my G27 for the past 7-8 years and have worn it just about every day. Sucks it in close to your side and it won't come out.

Not to hi-jack OP . Looking for a holster for a Glock 22 that would put the grip AT the beltline. I'm chunkie so I get my side gets beat up with any thing I've tried. Just tried a Kydex paddle and that is high and it doesn't dig but hangs away from the body. Not to good for ccw. I use a vest to cover and the Kydex sticks out like a sore thumb. Any help or info appreciated.. Thanx Stash Update-------------------- Dremel tool and my drill= problem solved. Just lowered the holster on the paddle frame. Holster even hangs better.....

Don Hume has a darn nice Glock leather holster, for the money. I use the 721 OT model. It's a pancake model for less than $50. Hume also has other models for the Glocks.

I also have a Fobus paddle holster. My G19 rides high and tight. Fobus has many Glock models.

Was at the Cabelas in Austin last week and was looking at a Fobus. I didn't even notice it when I checked out(I did find several things that i could not live without) but when i got home i discovered that i owned a fobus holster for my 21. It was even on my receipt! I really like it which means something cause I dont really like waist holsters as a rule.

I carried mine last week in a galco summer comfort iwb holster. It was comfortable enough but when you sat down the handle would turn out and it printed horribly.

Another vote for the Bianchi UM84. That is a great holster that can take a lot of abuse. I love them. If you wear it on a military style pistol belt you will hardly know it is there.

Fobus holsters are great, they are not that expensive and work great. Have 2, one for a Walther P22, the other for a G20, G21. Love them .

Glocks were made to thrive in dust and dirt, and when riding on the ATV's during bowhunting and just plain trail use this is the holster that I use because it allows for quick access should I need my Glock 20SF.

Re-Position your IWB holster and that problem will go away.

Is it just a question of trying different positions? It's not really adjustable but moves around quite a bit.

Do yourself a favor and get this holster from survival sheath systems. It is the BEST all around holster for field carry. I carry a glock 20 10mm in this chest holster all the time. Above the waders when fishing, out of the way of the packframe while hiking/hunting, held securely while riding the atv or snowmachine. Its simply the most confortable, most accessable way to carry a handgun.

I have two of these holsters one for my glock 20 and anotherone for a S&W 629.

I like the standard Glock tupperware holster, or a Fobus. I actually prefer the Glock if on and off benefit of a paddle isn't needed. It pulls the pistol nice and flat against the body and holds it very securely... and it's really cheap! Secure and good for concelaed carry.

Tuck your shirt over the gun to keep the dust out. Aside from the slide release nothing on my Glock has ever seemed affected by the sweat of daily carry under a shirt in an African climate. Somedays I need to dry the gun when I take it off at night.

I watched a guy drop a glock out of an airplane into a corn field and the dust didn't bother it one bit. For secure carry check out a blackhawk serpa for your quad riding.
