Trail cam preference?

Well, I searched on this topic and it seems it hasn't been discussed here in a while.  So I figure it's time for an update.

What's your favorite brand of trail cam?

I'm leaning toward the $200 Cuddeback, but was wondering if the cheaper Moultries or Bushnell cams might not be just as good...

ive got a few moultries they seem to work just fine i think i got the last one for 120 on sale at cabellas

I went through 11 of the moultrie 4.0 and finally gave up on trail cameras. The LCD screens would go out after about 6-12 months. Battery life and picture quality was good. Moultrie will replace the screens for $55.00. If you had to do this every year it would be like belonging to a book club. Cabela's took care of it but their return policy has changed and anything after 60 days has to go back to the manufacturer. I am still looking for a good camera.

the ones i have dont have a screen i just switch out the memory sticks and bring them back to the cabin and put them on my laptop

havn't had a prob yet i like them

Ive got several moultries here on the place and dont seem to have any trouble except you have to run duracell batteries or any of the others go dead after a couple weeks, all were bought as clearance items at wal-mart over the yrs. and one I recieved as a gift, would cost too much to start replacing them now, as long as they perform I will still use them, some of the hunter I run into have to havr the newest one every year, had one guy say he was going to get the one with the satilite system so he could watch them on his TV at home, just a little more than I can efford to put into that aspect of deer hunting.   Jim

I'm not sure of the model it was the top one they had about 4 years ago 3 meg and flash.

timberview from wildgame inovation trail cams. 2 for $99

thats my post under the cameras for the outdoors.

they are a cheap way to get in the trailcam fun..  the pics are crisp and clear.. i just touch them up a tad darker or contrast.. they seem to be a touch bright.  but look great with a touchup.,... for the price of one high rated camera i bought a package of 2 , 8 rechargable batteries and 2 sd cards..  so i don't spend another dime on them and im getting good pics.. 2meg.... havent used them in the cold.. and the batteries need recharging every 4-5 days

this was from the cheap ones on my post..





this one below was from my bushnell last year.. it lasted about 1 summer and died shortly in the hunting season.. started taking blurrs instead of pictures..like it was on acid,,,lol bad camera bad...  was always just a little out of focus..but then just over night one time took pics that you couldnt tell if it was a field or a spider..lol

whichever trail cam you get try to get one with good battery life some of them you will be buying alot of batteries.  I know the new compact bushnell has 6 months on AA batteries up to a year if lithium is used this is alsomw and it seems to be a decent camera for under 200.  Also The reconyx is a great camera and can be used as a trail cam because of its large detection zone and fast trigger speed.  It also has good battery life i have taken over 15000 pictures on a set of batteries
