Which would verify what I said about bringing the forened forward on the frame and exposing some of the pin. Thanks for confirming that.
I wouldn't be so quick to cast any stones though Rob. The seller may not have known the difference just like you didn't know it. They were not oddball's the years they offered them, they were standard equipment. Problem is like you most folks have not been been using Contenders for over 40 years like some of us have who bought and used all of the versions and changes in turn as they came along... cheered for some of them and cursed others. Heck, last 1 SO barrel I bought was a 222 Rem that was being sold as NIB, so I just assumed it was a newer 2 SO barrel. Seller didn't know the difference, and I didn't think to ask. Wasn't the sellers fault, it was mine, so I kept it. I still had the above stock set at the time and could have shot it, but would not go back to using those barrrels by then. Traded it later to a gent who didn't care it was a 1 SO barrel for a LNIB Winchester Mod 55 no less. Now there's a real oddball for you... a full size single-shot semi auto 22 rimfire with bottom eject, auto safety and no serial numbers.
