range report
« on: August 02, 2009, 05:21:45 AM »
My buddy Jim and I went to the range yesterday while the sun was out.  We took our sidekicks. His has a 26 inch barrel and he purchased it a few weeks ago used at our local gun shop.  I have had mine for a few years.  When he got his I set him up with a mu breech plug and hubbards rod.  We both shoot triple 7 loose. He uses 90 grains of ffg and I use 85 grains of fffg. We both shoot a lead 250 grain bullet I mold myself along with a harvestor crush rib sabot.  He uses cci standard 209 primers and I use both remington 209-4 and triple 7 primers.  We shot at 100 yards since we had dialed in well at 50 on our last trip.  There was a left to right wind coming from the southwest.  Anyway here are a few pics of our outing. We shared a target at 100 yards as there were two other guys also there using the other target stands.  The shots on the right side of the target are mine the left are his. Here are a few pics

Good Shooting Bubba! Looks like that Sidekick agrees with Jim? You sure have a nice looking bullet there as well.

I sure hope Jim didn't rib you too bad. ;D There is no deer that could live on the difference of either one of those groups. ;)

He doesnt say much.  It is a 15 mile drive and I was his ride lol.  He has always been a better shot than I and I am not ashamed to admit it.  But you will have to agree, I am the cuter one lol.  As we were picking up yesterdsay he said, I thik the whitetails are in trouble lol.  He os very happy with the set up and was extremely happy with the mu plug and hubbards rod too.
