Ontario Adult Tag Draw
« on: August 02, 2009, 09:13:36 AM »
I was drawn for a cow moose (archery) in WMU 24.  Now I'm waiting to hear from the other hunters in my group to see if we can hunt bulls as well.

Any one else have some luck?

I hunt WMU 49. 10 guys as we own 300 acres and not one of use got a Bull or Cow tag......... The shameful thing is when we come back in November for deer we see nothing but moose cruising the bush....I think my great-great-grand fathers mistress was 1/4 Indian, does that count??:)

The cow tag was all we got, but two of us are heading up in a week to give it a go.

I also gun hunt in WMU 47, and the odds are about 25:1 against getting an adult tag.  We struck out in that hunt, but two of us will be heading out to look for calves.  Like Buzzardo, we always see lots of moose both in the moose hunt and the deer hunts.  Two years ago the two of us saw 7 bulls and 3 cows - no calves though.  The MNR tells me our zone is due for an arial survey this winter, but I have little faith in the MNR's ability to determine the actual number of moose in the bush.
