barrel porting

I have a endeavor with a 7 mm mag 28 inch fluted heavy barrel I purchased for it. Just looking to tame the recoil and muzzle jump a little. Don't get me wrong it's not bad with the limbsaver pad and flex tech stock and all just looking to tame it a little more. I am thinking of sending the barrel off to magna port to have it ported. I thought about the magna brake but don't want to add 2 more inches to the barrel and I just don't like the looks of the brake. My question does anyone have experience with porting barrels and what can I expect for a reduction in recoil and muzzle jump. I dont mind the recoil for field situations but looking to tame it down for the range. Now I don't care about the noise increase. Whenever I shoot it is at my own personal range so no one along side of me would ever be affected and I hunt alone so the noise is not a issue at all, just wondering what I could expect for results. I have a couple of Encore barrels with a lot more recoil than a 7mm Rem. Mag. with T/C's Muzzle Tamer on them and I'm quite satisfied with them.  Actually, I have a 7mm Rem. Mag. barrel with a Muzzle Tamer on it and the recoil is quite gentle.  In my opinion, T/C's Muzzle Tamer is the most economical way to go and won't void T/C's lifetime warranty.  The barrel can be shortened a bit when the Muzzle Tamer is installed but, if you shorten it too much, the flutes are going to look funny.
