Peep Sight Scope Base
« on: August 05, 2009, 03:20:13 AM »
Please tell me I'm not crazy. ???
I'm certain I saw a scope mount base for an Encore that was slanted at the rear and had a peep sight on the slant. It slid up or down the ramp to provide elevation adjustment.
Help! Who makes this mount??

Thanks,
Doug

I wish they made one for Contenders!

You're not crazy!

I have the EABCO "Peeprib" on my Encore muzzle loader and just love it!  It comes with 6 screw holes--4 fit the regular TC mounting holes but the front 2 don't have screw holes in the Prohunter barrel.  I put the 4 screws into the TC mounting holes, and just thought it looked weak so I had a gunsmith drill and tap the barrel for the 2 forward screws for more security.  It's a nice feature, to be able to do it!  The peeprib fits snug on the .50 Prohunter barrel all the way to the front of the mount so it's an easy fix.

Wolloped a bear, and a whitetail with it last year. I'd buy another one, do it again if I wanted an open sight + scope mount.

Does the standard front sight work with it?

I also am interested in the peep rib sight found it on http://www.eabco.com/Muzzleloader03.htm awhile back. Who else has had experience with it?

Another option would be the peep sight from NEGC that attaches to the scope base of a Contender or Encore.  Gives you the option of scope or peep.
