The one I want to own but don't is a Hepburn, a little out of my price range.

I just scored the holy grail (to me) of .22 ss. Its a win. M52D With international match stock & barrel. A thumbhole from about 1969.Told less than 750 made. This thing shoots a little ragged hole at 50 yards peeking through a 20x unertyl.About 13 pounds of stone classic;about one pound trigger. My search is over.

Been a while and a lot of lead gone downrange since I replied to this post. I've changed my mind about the 357 max and instead would have a stainless Contender with a 45LC/410 barrel on it. Wouldn't want the vent rib barrel but instead a drilled and tapped bull barrel that I could put a Bushnell 1x4x32 scope on it. Should take care of most situations.

affordable in a mid-to-large caliber? a Ruger #1A in whatever caliber you enjoy!   :D   (me? 7x57, or 45/70 in a #1MS)

in a smaller frame, i like my Browning Low Wall 223 (why can't ruger make the #1 in 7/8 size???)

unaffordable? Dakota 10 (well, maybe someday...)

Very elegant rifle!

Very hard to choose between my 6 Ruger #1s, but I would lean toward my #1 B in 300 WBY mag.

Browning 1885 in .243 as long as I was not going after bears. Turns out my .260 wouldn't shoot. This one does and they are DRT.

Sliding block, 105 Howitzer.

Otherwise waiting on delivery of Ruger No.1A in 303 Brit.  It was a dream to someday build this rifle and then it came available.

I am going to order one too, I do believe.  It will probably put me in the doghouse for a while, but I'll take the risk!  LOL

First choice: My Ruger No.1RSI 7x57 20"bbl, mannlicher stock, iron sights - I use a 2.5x Weaver or 2.5x-8x32mm Bushnell scope.

Second choice: probably my Ruger No.1S .338 win mag 26"bbl, Alex Henry forend, barrel band swivel, iron sights - 1x-4x 20mm or 2.5x-8x 32mm scopes....absolutely beautiful!!

Cooper, Phoenix, Model 22, .308 Winchester. I have one and it shoots one hole groups all day long as long as I do my part.

Model 97D in 17inch, 44 mag barrel, but I want it in a black and gray laminate mannlicher for end and english straight stock so might have to remove the brass spacer. It would have ghost ring sights and ready for a scout mount red dot.
It would be a hog and deer brush gun.

I'm shooting cheap, everything I own is .357 and .22RF.

But if I only get one, it's got to be my Baby Rolling Block carbine

but at least let me show off my favorite .22, a Cimmaron low-wall

I like his!

Until I can afford those however ... Contender G2 223 Super 16" with .22LR/WMR chamber adapters.

I love my T/C Encore .270. I have a Bushnell 3200 3 x 9 x 40 on it. It's a real tack driver and just plain fun to hunt with and shoot.

Been a while  but I would have to say now it is my TCR 83 in 7mm Remington mag. with the 3x9x40 bushnell took 2 deer this year with it, but I also love my Ruger international in 7x57 and also my G2 in 7-30 waters. Too many choices like a kid in a candy store :) :)
