My daugher is fabulous. We are lucky. I am sometimes mystified by how she can be happy and funny one day and really crabby the next. She's 15. This behavior is rather unpredictable.

Unpredictability in a 15 year old girl is perfectly predictable. The best that we can do is be patient, and remember that they'll soon be 25, and any challenges of their teen years will be long forgotten.

Yup. I just shrug it off and go about my business. I don't reprimand her for it, unless it interferes with the family in some way.

The rest of the family is generally very stable and predictable in demeanor. Her swings are big.

Well, there are those monthly phases and they can be pretty radical and painful for teens.
Otherwise consider it a practise run for a "fixin to be a wife" for someone.

Glad all I ever had was boys.

Both my hunting buddies had girls, one had two, the other had four. When the girls reached their mid to late teen years, my buddies dis associated them selves from the family as much as possible. Never having experienced it I could never figure out why, the one with the older girls did that. But I spent a lot more time with the second guy and his four girls. At times I had to get out and leave, could not understand how he took it. Ever notice when five women (Mom and 4 daughters) live together that long they all get crabby at the same time each month. My buddy and I found reasons to go fishing or hunting at those times.

Often female sports teams get in synch monthly. The high school basketball/other/ coach hates this at tournament time. The Chinese symbol for an unhappy household is two women under one roof.

. Couldn't tell them nothing.

Now they seem to want to listen a little more. It's funny how living your own life can open your eyes.

we raised 5...2boys 3 girls....girls were tougher on me as a father...just more complicated...
mabe this was because i understood the boys problems an such, better... i don t really know...
but we all just laugh about it if it comes up...slim

I didn't truely begin to grow up until my first child was born and I think that it helped that it was a girl. I am glad my son wasn't born first because I didn't know how not to be too hard. The girl helped me begin to learn.

My daughters only 10 and she's like that all ready. She's exceptionally bright and advanced for her age. The past two summers she attended the National Young Scholar program at Wake Forest University. Sometimes I think that she thinks her mother and I were born just yesterday and she knows everything and we know nothing.

She does keep us on our toes. Last fall we got together with some friends and played the Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader board game and she finished 2nd to me nearly beating us five adults.

She is Daddy's girl though so I think she cuts me a little more slack than she does her mom. Boy she loves to push her mom's buttons at times. It's going to get real 'interesting' around here when she puberty.

My daughter is 13 now. She has been an honer roll student the last 2 years.

She is smart and has a great sense of humor. She is a good kid but she does have her days where she is real moody. The first picture is one of my favorites of her. She is 6 years old in it. The other picture was taken a few days ago. Dale

My daughter really kept me on my toes when she was in her teens. She now is 31 years old and the best daughter and mother one could ask for. If given the proper values- they will turn out just fine.

Mine is 11 going on 30. It is rather entertaining embarrassing her though. She gets out of line, I just threaten to come to school and do a little dance in the hallway in front of her friends...

she may be going through one of the hardest times she ever will...
acceptance by peers is the big deal...for some people it stays that way thier whole life...
so if a 13 yr old is having a tuff time now ,,it could be a blessing in disguise..
mabe she learns the folly of acceptance being absolutely necessary...if so shes ahead of many her age.. jmo slim

Dale remember how sweet she is and cute she is in that picture cause when the dreaded PMS comes along the sweetness and cuteness disappears and the devil comes out. Puberty sure is tough on parents.

She got PMS at 10 years old.

I've got two 17 yo's. Wow... between them and mom... sometimes I just want to buy a camper and live in it for a week at a time. The rest of the time they are "almost" normal. Big improvements in the past 2-3 years though. PMS is no excuse for rudeness or pissy attitudes. I put up with some extra sensitivity and emotions but I draw the line at bad attitudes. Well, except with mom, I can't do much about that. Don't have to put up with it from daughters though. They can go to their room and stay there until it's over or until they can apologize and act nice. Sometimes I just hope they stay there...

Don't put everything on PMS. Large mood swings are often a sign of experimenting with drugs!!! Don't go ape but watch carefully.

OK guys heres the scoop , if they were not like that we would never allow them to go off and have their own family . As it is there is never the perfect mate for our daughter so they have to get under our skin enough that we can let them go ! women call it cutting the apron strings .

Well, not to sure about girls, I have 2 boys,8 and 10. But when I find one of my tools out in the woods, or their throwing each other around and you wonder when one of them is going to the emergency room next, they can be a pain. gypsyman
