The next more powerful thing?

What term do you use when you need something more powerful to do a job, any job?

My favorite term is
"I need a bigger hammer"

For example, when contemplating a deer hunt: I've got a .22 but I need a bigger hammer.

NOT that dinkey thing, get the BINFORD 6100.  GRUNT GRUNT  yea more power.
But the BINFORD 8400 will do it quicker.  OH YEA YEA yea.  Forgot the 8400 series.

Sometime I have to apply the 'meat hammer' (my fist) to something such as a stuck door or contrary electronic device.   If that doesn't work I may have to resort to a 'bigger persuader' (a real hammer).
