ar10 is back together
« on: August 09, 2009, 01:04:27 AM »
I replaced the post front sight with a 4 rail gas block as i put a trigicon accupoint 1x4x30 on it and i couldnt stand the sight post in the sight picture. I also put a houge grip on it and just got the trigger group back from bill springfield. Going to have to burn some ammo today!! By the way is a dpms 308 with a 16 inch barrel.

Did you get the 3 or 4 lb trigger job?  I had him do 3 triggers for me.  2 with the 3lb, and my AP4 trigger as a 4lb.  It turned out pretty well.  It still has a bit of creep, but it is a huge improvement.

he will only do a 4lb trigger on an ar10. THe firing pin is spring loaded on them and he feels that if you go lighter then that the reliability will suffer. It ended up about 4.5 lbs with a bit of creap. Not great but much better then what it was. Ive sent 5 ar15 triggers to him now and they ended up between 2 and 3.5 lbs with no creap. I allways got his better trigger package with the 15s.

That was my experience too.  The triggers jobs in my AR15's are a lot better than the AP4 trigger job.  But, it is a huge improvement for the stock DPMS trigger.
