I see Sako finally came out with new one piece rings to mount directly on the sako dovetails without the use of the heavy optilock bases. Somebody on told me that they had been out a while, but I have never seen them or heard about them on and of our favorite chat sites.

Gets rid of that heavy base that attaches to the rings with a single post screw.  Thought they might be more solid and weigh less with one less failure point.

Anybody put their hands on these yet? Do they feel solid, mount up well, etc?

Thanks,

Conrad

This doesn't directly answer your question, but Leupold makes a set of rings for the 75/85 that fit right to the reciever, feel pretty solid.

I have them on my 75 and 85.One size fits all actions. They are the same as the standard optilocks, won't wreck your scope like the imitations.A must if you own a newer Sako.
This is a shot on my 75 with a 3-9X40 Conquest, they are low optilocks.
