Off-season cherry tomatoes?

Have you tried growing cherry tomatoes in your house during the winter? Is a window with a southern exposure with sunlight about 7 hours a day enough for them? Or is this something that just aint-a gonna work?

I never have but from everything I have read they will grow and produce. You can polenate them yourself also. Dale

yea but everytime I climb up on one of those little yeller flowers I fall off and bust my behind or the wife swats me with a fly swat

I guess I will have to keep a swarm of killer bees in the house to do the pollenating. Mrs. Questor will like that.

I have heard of a couple different ways to polenate them. I hear you can use a Q-Tip and touch every flower. I also heard it is as simple as shaking the branch with the flowers on. Dale

I'm glad I asked. This just might work. It would be sha-weeet if we could have cherry tomatoes year-round, or at least 3 seasons.

If you want to polinate tomatoe plants artificially go to a garden center and ask for Bloom Set. I can't remember who makes it but I think Miracle Grow is on the label. Just spray the blooms when they appear and you are good to go.
