insurgents..
we just don t understand what we are fighting... these people gonna fight no matter what...
we kinda like that also, but we have a record thats better than some civilizations...
look at thier history..have they ever been at peace ,without a tyrant over them ,,,who didn t allow any of his [property] subjects to devalue any other subjects ? i don t know the answer to that,,hence the question..

Give them a job and thier wives a few clothing catalogs and you may see that they want some of the material stuff and not live in the 1400's and once the wife wants stuff he will have no time for anything but work.

And the same people that marched in the streets in Iran and took over the embasy now have the youth of that same country asking for the material things that their parents and grandparents rebelled against the Sha and the west over. Bad thing about revolutions is they tend to come back around. The kids want the X box, the Ipod and the cell phone in Iran now as well as all the other typical US Teen stuff.

this should work as well as midnight basketball stopped car theft and drug use and sales .
More important this country got found in 1492 by religous people , settlers came soon after with purtian views not so different than what we see them doing , what with the witch burnnings etc. it took until the 1950's or so to start a change here . So does anyone think they will change in a few days what took us 500 + years ?

Maybe in the slave ships . Thomas Jefferson had to send troops to stop the Muslim pirates off the coast of North Africa though so it was known back at least that far . TJ read the Koran so he would understand what he was dealing with .

I was aware of the pirate thing. Would it have mattered if they were of another religion? Presumably TJ would have sent in the troops. To me Pirates are Pirates regardless of location or which way they face in their prayers or not pray at all.

BTW I see the Somali Pirates are still doing just fine.

They still teach Christopher Columbus in your school system? Hadn't you heard Leif Ericson beat him to North America by about 500 years. Even established a colony called Vinland on the northern tip of Newfoundland, Labrador, Canada.
